Five little chicks all in a row! I have been talking for a year now about getting chickens so we can have some fresh eggs. Two weeks ago, I made the plunge and decided to do it. My mom is in on this with me, so it helps to have an accomplice because Aaron and my dad think we are crazy. We drove out east and bought 5 little chicks, made them a nice warm place to stay in my moms garage, and when they are 6 weeks old they will go in the coop, which we also made. They won't lay eggs till they are around 4-5 months old, but then they will lay about 1 a day. We are going to see how it goes with the 5, then we are planning on getting 5 more later in the year. We are allowed to have 10 chickens in the city limits. I'll keep you posted on the progress!
