An Eternal Love Reunited

Today is the day that my grandma was able to be reunited with her eternal companion, grandpa George. This evening my grandma passed away peacefully after being apart from grandpa for 25 years. She is such a strong woman, with such a strong will. We have all been touched by the thinness of the veil for grandma over the past few days. Grandpa has been near to her the whole time. My family has had very touching moments in the presence of grandma. She lived a long, wonderful life, and has touched the lives of many people. She lived in the same house that she brought her babies home to almost 60 years ago. The grandkids climbed her trees, rode around her block, played baseball in her front yard and many, many other memories that will never be forgotten. Most importantly, she had my dad, and raised him to be strong in the gospel. I know that I have the wonderful life that I have today because of how she taught my dad to follow the gospel and put the Lord first. He in turn taught me the truth. Grandma, we all love you deeply and will miss you very much, but we are so glad that you are now in the arms of your eternal sweetheart.

Traditions

It occurred to me about 4 months ago, that I did not know how to make a pie crust from scratch. Now, I have made pies before but had always used the Pillsbury premade crust. I got to thinking that in almost 13 years of marriage, every time we have pie either my mother or mother-in-law are around to make it, so I never learned to do the crust. So before all the holidays I decided I wanted to learn to make the crust from scratch. It dawned on me that if I didn't learn, then I couldn't teach my children, so the art of pie crust making would be lost forever because of me. Then in, oh say 30-40 years, when the grandmas are no longer alive, who will make the pies for the holidays? So I was taught how by my mother in law, and have tried to practice once or twice a month. Pie crust making takes years to perfect. My crust turns out very yummy but I know it will only get better with time. So here's to you Audrey, for teaching me so the tradition will never die!

The greatest joy I have in my life are my children. They truly are why I am here on this earth. They teach me how to be a better wife, mother, daughter, and friend. I am not an eloquent writer, but I wanted everyone to know how amazing my children are to me. I love my children because......





Taylor Danielle-because she made me a mother**because she still wants to hold my hand in public**because she is my biggest helper, with little to no complaining**because she is kind**because she is most like me, afraid of everything**because she still thinks I'm the greatest. Dallin H-because he made me realize that love doesn't divide, it grows**because he loves to snuggle**because he has compassion for everyone**because he is everyones friend**because he has a tender heart. Dallin, you will always be my "Buddy"






Emma McKay-because I never knew I could love someone so much, that frustrates me so often**because of your laugh**because Brayden loves it when you play with him**because you are so honest**because you are a loyal friend. Emma, you bring sunshine into my life on a cloudy day.





Ashton H-because you always have a smile ready**because you love to dress yourself**because I always know you will find whatever is missing**because you have a silly way about you. Ashton, you bring me strength each day to do better.





Brayden H-because your smile always makes me melt**because you never get mad at me**because of the innocense in your eyes as I nurse you**because you are the closest thing to heaven**because Daddy says you are my last. Brayden, you warm my soul.
