Well, we finally got a chance to get out of town. The kids are out of school for 2 weeks for "fall break" so we left Friday for Estes Park. We wanted to see the elk and all the leaves changing. We stayed in a hotel Friday night with a cool waterslide and a great kiddie pool. The kids had a great time at the pool. Saturday we got up and drove into town. We shopped the "sidewalk sale" AKA "all the left over junk" sale. We got some lunch at a little mexican restaurant, and then we drove into Rocky Mountain National Park. Last year we went to Estes Park in the summer and there were 50 or so elk on the golf course in town, not this year. Every 15 minutes Aaron would so casually say, "I want to see the elk." So as we drove into the park there was a meadow on the right side with 2 large herds, and some huge, trophy bulls. We saw 1 buck escorting another one away from "his" herd. It was cool to see the dominance in these two beautiful elk. Aaron has his hunting tag for a bull elk in 3 weeks, but he has yet to even see an elk when he's hunting. He calls his elk hunting trips his unicorn hunt because that's about what they amount to. Maybe this year will be better!! Anyways, we had a great time, with some beautiful scenery. But it's always nice to come home and sleep in our own beds.

i love the picture of brady with antlers!! it sounds you guys had a much needed vacation and looks like everyone had a ton of fun! hopefully we can see you guys soon. we miss you!
Sweet hotel to have slides like that! Looks like fun. I would have done almost anything for a hotel like that back in the day. Tell all the kids hi from us:)
